If there\u2019s one question we\u2019ve all heard in our lives, it\u2019s definitely \u201cWhat do you want to do when you grow up?\u201d. However, how can young people choose the right career path for them without receiving the necessary information about the opportunities and potential of each field? <\/span>Athens Science Festival<\/b><\/a> 2023, <\/b>as a <\/span>Student Edition ASF<\/b>, has the mission to inspire students, while providing the confidence needed to take the next step and <\/span>\u201cShape their future\u201d<\/b>!<\/span><\/p>\n

From <\/span>October 10<\/b>th<\/b> to 12<\/b>th<\/b>, ASF, the grand celebration of science, returns for another year to <\/span>Technopolis city of Athens<\/b><\/a>, bringing visitors into contact with contemporary innovations and achievements in the fields of science, technology and art. In the specially designed program for this year\u2019s festival, the wonderful world of <\/span>STEM professions<\/b> (Science | Technology | Engineering | Mathematics) will be highlighted, along with the multitude of choices these professional paths offer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Students<\/b> of all ages, during scheduled school visits, will have the opportunity to witness <\/span>impressive live experiments<\/b> and participate in <\/span>innovative workshops<\/b>. In the <\/span>interactive exhibition<\/b> of this year\u2019s festival, they will observe <\/span>brain models<\/b> and real neurons<\/b> under a microscope, as well as take a virtual tour in ancient Athens, during the era of Pericles and dinosaurs with <\/span>3D virtual reality glasses<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, they will attend <\/span>talks from renowned scientists<\/b> who will captivate and inspire them.\u00a0 <\/span>Dr. Konstantinos Demetzos<\/b> will be our guide into the world of \u201cinvisible\u201d viruses, and <\/span>Dr. Ioannis Baziotis<\/b> will prove that every dream can come true – even if it involves collecting meteorites with NASA! <\/span>Dr. Michael Londesborough<\/b> will introduce students to the fascinating world of chemistry, highlighting that the role of a scientist extends beyond the limits of a laboratory.<\/span><\/p>\n

University students and educators<\/b> will participate in pioneering seminars and interactive workshops. During the <\/span>STEM Career Sessions<\/b>, they will learn how to create a successful public professional profile and enhance the necessary soft skills that will elevate their careers. In the <\/span>Science<\/b> Communication Workshops<\/b>, they will discover how science can be transformed into inspiring stories!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ASF,<\/b> as every year, is a huge celebration of science, so it couldn\u2019t be complete without afternoon sessions covering various topics, including <\/span>Gaming<\/b>, <\/span>Artificial Intelligence<\/b>, <\/span>Stand-up science<\/b>, <\/span>Art Exhibitions<\/b>,<\/span> speeches by renowned scientists<\/b>, and so much more!<\/span><\/p>\n

The Athens Science Festival 2023 is organized by the educational organization <\/span><\/i>“Science Communication – SciCo”<\/i><\/b><\/a>, the <\/span><\/i>British Council<\/i><\/b><\/a>, and the <\/span><\/i>Technopolis City of Athens<\/i><\/b><\/a> in collaboration with numerous academic, research institutions, and educational organizations.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
