The remarkable story of <\/span>Dr. Jane Goodall<\/b> captivates and inspires people from all over the world. This pioneering scientist not only advanced scientific knowledge through her research but also laid the foundation for creating a better world. An important aspect of this effort is the \u201c<\/span>Roots & Shoots<\/b><\/a>\u201d<\/b> program of Dr. Jane Goodall’s Institute, which began in Tanzania in 1991 and aims to empower and support individuals to take action and make a difference in their communities. This program has reached over 100 countries and now counts over 1,000,000 active members.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since January 2023, the non-profit organization <\/span>Science Communication – SciCo<\/b><\/a> has taken on the official representation of the \u201c<\/span>Roots & Shoots<\/b><\/a>\u201d<\/b> program in <\/span>Greece <\/b>and its goal is to promote the philosophy and work of Dr. Jane Goodall.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the <\/span>interactive exhibition<\/b> of the <\/span>Athens Science Festival<\/b><\/a>, students and educators will learn about this innovative program and have the opportunity to explore two of its active <\/span>projects<\/b>!<\/span><\/p>\n

The campaign with the slogan <\/span>#partetavouna<\/i><\/b> aims to raise awareness about Mount Parnitha. Did you know that many of the activities taking place in Parnitha have negative impacts on the environment? Test your knowledge on the tablets available at the “Roots & Shoots” booth and find out how informed you truly are. The program’s ambassadors will share information about navigating the mountain, and we will discover how small actions can have a great impact.<\/span><\/p>\n

How do our dietary habits affect climate change? Did you know that a <\/span>vegan diet<\/b> significantly contributes to reducing our carbon footprint? Through interactive exhibits and games, people of all ages and educators will learn about a plant-based diet, food waste management, and the “farm to table” concept.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0395very change matters! Every small or large effort leads us to a better tomorrow \u2013 a better place for us, the animals around us, and the environment!<\/span><\/p>\n
