The Athens Science Festival 2024, held from April 16 to 21 at the Technopolis City of Athens, narrated ‘Tales of Change‘. On its 10th anniversary, it set up a grand celebration and shared with us those significant changes that mark our lives today and open new horizons.

For six days, Technopolis City of Athens transformed into a spectacular venue where Science, Technology, and Innovation took center stage. Interactive exhibits, experiential activities, and workshops for both young and old, along with impressive experiments and distinguished speakers, brought us closer to the magic of innovation, inviting us to discover the forces shaping our world—a world that is constantly evolving, and to follow it, we must first understand it.

Among the prominent speakers who graced the festival this year were Dr. Jill Tiefenthaler, CEO of the National Geographic Society; Konstantinos Daskalakis, professor at MIT; Lars Rasmussen, founder of Google Maps; Yannis Assael, Artificial Intelligence researcher at Google DeepMind; the leading Greek geneticist and former president of the International Human Genome Organization (HUGO), Stylianos Antonarakis; and the president of the Academy of Athens, Stamatis Krimizis, along with six National Geographic Explorers, Lucy Hawkes, Tom Mathews, Piero Amodio, Imogen Napper, Theo Anagnostopoulos, and Nick St. Oegger.

The Athens Science Festival 2024 is organized by the educational organization Science Communication – SciCo’, the British Council, and the Technopolis City of Athens, in collaboration with a host of academic, research bodies, and educational organizations, and with the support of COSMOTE as a major sponsor.
